Before we start talking about vitamin C , let’s find out what are vitamins and what are their main functions.
Vitamins are a group of substances essential for normal cell function, growth and development. They are grouped into two categories : fat-soluble , which are stored in the body’s fatty tissues ; and water soluble, which are used by the body right away. Vitamin A and its derivatives are key among the antiaging ingredients ; vitamins E and C are superb antioxidants with synergistic effects. These are scientifically established as having greatest cosmetic value.
Though most consumers consider vitamins to be natural materials, in cosmetics they can be either naturally derived or synthetically produced. So now that we know something more about vitamins , let’s go back to our king of vitamins – vitamin C . Here at Monica Max , we love it and we have been working with it for a long time to bring the best results for the skin when topically applied.
Vitamin C ( ascorbic acid – the purest version of Vitamin C which is used in Monica Max products) is a well-known antioxidant. It is said to promote a visible renewal of the skin’s appearance , resulting in skin that looks brighter , firmer and healthier. Past research has indicated that high concentrations of topically applied vitamin C are photo protective , fights free radicals – number one reason why skin ages. It also acts as collagen biosynthesis regulator and has skin-lightening effect ,which is a great way to fight hyper pigmentation signs or just prevent its formations. Vitamin C is considered a great anti-aging ingredient.
Being in a mediterranean territory we are surrounded by orange lemon mandarin and pomegranate trees, of course even a lot of others vitamin c sources from the nature. That’s the reason we are so curious about this form of vitamin and we are using all nature’s gift while creating our skincare.
At Monica Max , we have two different type products with pure vitamin C version, of course, these products are made to slow skin aging processes.
The first one is a Vitamin C deluxe essence. It is a botanical awakening with synergetic slow-aging blend of antioxidants, natural plant extracts and actives. Botanical essence is a serum rich in vitamin C, allantoin and hyaluronic acid, which having antioxidant properties prevents wrinkles and skin loss of firmness, also has the ability to increase collagen production.
And the other product is Vitamin C concentrated serum. It is a lightweight silky serum containing vitamin c along with humectants like 10% of hyaluronic acid to bring and lock moisture to the skin. Orange gel-like texture sinks in completely with no residue, and makes your skin feel super soft, it has light mediterranean citrus scent, which it is naturally-derived. Serum’s formula contains a high concentration of 10% ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) to visibly improve uneven skin tone, dark spots, red marks and skin texture. Vitamin C helps to fight oxidative stress by neutralising free radicals. This innovative natural spot treatment boosts production of substances that keep skin looking firm ( as collagen), helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leaves skin hydrated, velvet and visibly brighter.
What’s the difference between these two products ?
Well they have similar components , most of them are active botanicals, but one is a liquid essence and the other one is a gel-like concentrate. Well essence is made on purpose to prepare the skin for a day cream application and help the cream to lock in moisture also providing the skin with vitamins and extracts to bring the skin freshness and brightness it needs. While concentrated vitamin C version is created to minimise wrinkles , eliminate hyper pigmentation spots and uneven skin tone. We suggest using this product for the people from 35 above , unless you have premature aging signs, so that could be used as well no matter the age. Meanwhile, the vitamin c deluxe essence could be used by people from 25 above.
