Hello to all. Hope you are doing well this wonderful period of time while waiting for the most magical time of the year Christmas and New Year.
A lot of things to do. We are rushing everything because we know New Year and new start is coming so we need to finish a lot of things and to be ready for new challenges.
But what about our skin and holistic care of yourselves ? Let’s discuss about that more. I live between two european countries Lithuania and Italy. They have absolutely different climate and my skin needs to adapt to both of these all the time.
Italy having sea climate has a lot of humidity and Lithuania has nordic climate which means a lot of cold. So I think wherever you are one of these climate situations could also fit you and your living conditions as well.
Is it a little bit stressful for the skin when it comes to a real cold or a cold with excessive humidity ? Me having super sensitive skin I can say to you : YES ! I have allergy to cold and all the time in winter period I have red dull and dry skin. That’s my biggest issue to effectively fight that. So I want to share with you my personal natural beauty remedies and rituals in cold period of the year.
When you get cold you have temperature, cough , sometimes headache etc. and these are the symptoms that show you are not doing so well. The same is with skin. If your skin in cold period of the year gets red itchy and dry , it shows you that it got cold and “sick” , too. In other words our skin could not protect itself with its natural sebum production and here we need to protect it ourselves.
The best natural remedy is to put some shea butter on where the skin is dry in this way we are protecting and at the same time moisturising irritated from cold skin. Why shea butter ? It is a super moisturising and perfect for dry skin as it provides relief to itchy and peeling skin. Shea butter has the capacity to restore the elasticity of the skin , also reduces razor irritation , bumps and even skin inflammation. Other super powers of this magical ingredient which derives from mama Africa is anti-aging and anti-free radical agent, also the ability to reduce stretch marks or scarfs.
My personal opinion is that it works super good and does its job at 100%. That is the best natural medicine for itchy red and dry skin , especially hands ! So you can easily go with pure shea butter, I suggest applying it only to dry places of the skin because it is too heavy to apply it to all the body, unless you like it.
So , in other words our dry itchy skin needs oily protection. We can change shea butter with other cold pressed extra virgin oils such as olive , avocado or argan. Coconut oil could work, as well , here.
